PUMPED UP: The iconic Cirque du Soleil has been given a fresh lease of life for its return to Malaga in 2019

HOLD on to your seats because the world’s most thrilling show is coming back to the Costa del Sol.

The iconic Cirque du Soleil is officially returning to Malaga in 2019 with an all-new show that promises to enchant and shock audiences in equal measures.

Kooza is set to premiere on September 13 under Cirque’s iconic Big Top tent at Malaga’s Cortijo de Torres Fairground.

The French-Canadian collective goes back to its roots with Kooza – a show that will ‘captivate your imagination and make your heart race’ by combining acrobatics and the art of clowning, while taking audiences through a journey of fear, identity, recognition and power.

Performers will take to the enormous spinning Wheel of Death, balance, turn and twist between numerous hoops at once, teeter along tightropes 25 feet above the stage and join forces for the Skeleton Dance.

The show was born in the early 1980s when co-creator Gilles Ste-Croix took a troupe of performers to the streets of Baie-Saint-Paul, a charming village on the shores of the St. Lawrence River near Quebec City.

It was dubbed Cirque du Soleil as ‘the sun symbolises youth, energy, and strength’.

The troupe toured the US for the first time in 1987 with sell-out shows, that were taken on to London and Paris.
