THE opening of a new zipline in Casares is the perfect way to shake off those back-to-work blues.

The newly opened ride runs for 300 metres at a height of 80 metres, taking 30 seconds to complete.

In an effort to boost tourism in the area, it joins the El Chaparral viewpoint and the Las Penuelas area.

The zipline was constructed at a cost of €36,000 – a third of which was raised from town hall coffers, the rest from government grants.

Tickets cost €12 and can be bought from the Blas Infante house but it is only open on certain days, so plan ahead.
